| Introduction | On July 8, 2013, I began participating in the Moral Monday protests in North Carolina because I thought and still think that the GOP-controlled state government is instituting cruel, regressive policies that are harming the state and its people. On July 15, I was arrested on charges stemming from civil disobedience (refusing to comply with the Chief of the General Assembly Police's order to leave the General Assembly building because I do not think that order was legal). This blog is mostly about that arrest and the legal proceedings it set in motion. |
