About me

Location Melbourne, Australia
Introduction For many years I've worked in financial services, mainly in proprietary trading of derivatives, fixed income securities and risk management. Prior to that, I started out in scientific research, receiving a PhD in non-linear systems and differential geometry. In my financial markets career I've observed that the spirit of the scientific method is much more useful, and therefore important, than any quantitative and computing skills. With this blog I'd like to share some of my thoughts, engage in discussion with people with a passion for finance and hopefully together improve the way people with a scientific and quantitative background can really contribute to the improvement of finance, beyond the narrow confines of model building.
