Introduction Middle-aged, dignified, slender, graying black hair, piercing blue eyes in a rugged face. Wears well tailored suits & a utilitarian cane & sometimes limps. Employer: Steeltopia Consortium for Scientific Endeavors. Expert on many subjects. Trained/taught at Caledon Oxbridge University. Born: Ambertown (today's Steelhead). Family was cultured, well-off. Father taught him to act for the benefit of society. Grew up on scientific/philanthropic expeditions. Connection to the Golden Prim: only known survivor of last expedition,as a young, altruistic professor who sought the Prim for scientific evaluation. Father partly funded the quest & went on it, dying on the journey. The quest was arduous for young Andrew as well; disease, treachery, & exhausting pace eventually left him with malaria. The zealous expedition party left him for dead, but natives nursed him back to health in a year. Return to scholarly society found his ethics compromised by setbacks. Today: haunts his office, less trusting of fellow scholars & society in general. Often keeps to himself, though generally cordial & polite.
Interests All things scholarly: scientific reason, sociolology, anthropology, archaeology, history, linguistics and language study, literature. And now, with trepidation and for the second time in my life, adventure.
