| Introduction | It all started when Ashley was born in July 1985. She was the first granddaughter born to the Gillentine side of the family and she was SPOILED! Everyone who knew her bought her every kind of outfit that she might need, she rarely had to wear the same outfit twice. Little Ashley had so many clothes that her mom decided to open up a consignment shop to sell the outfits that little Ashley had outgrown. And in 1987 Ashley's Attic was born. It started out in an upstairs rooms in downtown McMinnville, eventually moved down to the street level on the corner of Main Street and Sparta Street and then to the Plaza on Smithville Hwy. Now, 21 years later, my mom (Helen) and I (Ashley), along with my dad (Garry) are still running the store. We have grown from that little consignment shop on the corner into one of McMinnville’s most established businesses. We don’t do consignment anymore but we have a great selection of new baby and kids’ clothing! We are no longer just a clothes shop– we have expanded over the years to stock a lot of unique gift lines too. You might say that this is your one stop specialty gift and clothes shop! |
