| Introduction | Jim, my husband, is the love of my life, my best friend, and my soul mate. We started dating in early 1997, and were married in 1999. We have 6 kids -- 3 of my own: Ricky (1981), Julie (1984) and Jessie (1987); and 3 of Jim's sons: Matt (1982), Mark (1984) and Mike (1988). We also have a beautiful little granddaughter, Taylor, born Nov 3, 2006 to our Mark and finacee Crystal. I am a French immersion kindergarten teacher, and I absolutely love my job and my students. I turned 50 on April 18, 2007. I graduated with a M.Ed. in August 2005. This was my first step towards a new career after retirement in 2010, but melanoma was gearing up to change my life forever in a way I could never have imagined. |

| Favorite Books | I don't read much -- maybe it's too closely associated with work. But since my diagnosis, I have read a couple of books on positive thinking and spirituality, plus a huge amount of melanoma research. |
