| Introduction | Hi my name is Maria...and I'm an Early Childhood Educator. I became interested in teaching when I began Substitute teaching in 2017. At the time I was part owner of an online children's clothing boutique that specialized in rock n' roll inspired clothing for children. My first year as a substitute I was lucky enough to work at the same school and get to know the children at that school from Pre K to Grade 5. It was great walking the halls and seeing familiar faces always smiling and waving hello to me. When the end of the year came around the fifth graders were searching for me to sign their year books, this was such a touching moment for me that I knew that this was what I was meant to do. "Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be."
