| Introduction | 27 years in nursing, most of which spent in a small, rural ER with lots of trauma (guns, 4-wheeler wrecks, good old-fashioned fisticuffs). These days the only way I can get myself to go to work in the mornings is to tell myself that I'm only there on a writing assignment. Oh, and although every bit of this is based upon true encounters with crazy ER patients, none of it is about you or anyone you know. No HIPAA violations here. I'm burned out, not stupid. |
