Marcel Baaijens

About Me

Marcel Baaijens (1956) is an archetypal architect, artist, teacher and pioneer, building, creating, inspiring and inventing wherever he happens to be. He has studied International Folkdance (LCA cert.), Architecture (MSc.), Art Education (M.A.A.E.) Massage and Alternative Healing. He has created a ground breaking Sit Dancing programme for frail elderly people (New Zealand, Australia), founded innovative Art Programmes for people with intellectual disabilities (U.S.A, New Zealand) paints, draws, makes jewelry, stained glass windows, renovate houses and is in the process of designing and building a small eco house in Wellington, New Zealand. He won an award for his first documentary (1999) and is now working on his first feature length autobiographical documentary. He was born and raised in the Netherlands, migrated to New Zealand, but lived also in the U.S.A. Europe, Asia and Australia.
