About Me

I´m a woman in the 30s living in Copenhagen. With my job (which you don´t want to hear about) I have the opportunity to travel quite a lot - always trying to combine it with opera, which is what I´ll mostly write about...but also on classical music in general. Primarily (but in no way exclusively) Wagner, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky, R Strauss, Alban Berg and the likes... and more contemporary composers (such as Messiaen, Boulez, Saariaho, Norgaard and in particular the lesser known composers - if I know them myself!). So don´t expect to be updated on the latests whereabouts of Anna&Rolando here...not that I don´t like gossip - it´s just a full-time job to keep track of it! And furthermore this blog is Mozart-free zone! Please note that I am not a musicologist or music critic and any writing on my part may only be viewed as informal talk. I have been playing the violin, piano and have been singing since I was 5, at one point considering a professional career in singing, but never knowing how your voice may turn out in 10-15 years and realizing that I´m not really an ensemble person and would make an awful chorus singer, I chose an academic career and now music is just a hobby..
