About Me
I tell most people that I coined the term, all by myself. However I confess that a'fish'ionado (n.) lover of seafood and shellfish was first penned by a Scottish Field journalist writing one day about The Seafood Trail. The point is that I am one. An a'fish'ionado. A lover of seafood and shellfish and living a fairly idyllic life on Scotland's remote West Coast. I started the Seafood Trail 2 years ago (www.theseafoodtrail.com) with a view to encouraging visitors to Argyll's West Coast. People who have never been before are surprised that we have so many establishments offering the most wonderful seafood and shellfish. 'We usually have to go to Spain to get seafood like this,' they comment. Well, just so that you know, the majority of the fabulous seafood and shellfish that you probably enjoy on the Spanish coast hails from Scotland. Most likely it's from West coast waters, and the Spanish market it as their 'local' produce. But it's not. It's ours and if you also are an a'fish'ionado, I very much hope that your appetite will be wetted by this blog.
