About me

Introduction I grew up with cats and loved them. Once I left home I wasn't making much money and didn't feel I was in the right position to take on the responsibilities of a pet. But, when I pictured myself with an animal in my life, I always saw myself with cats. I didn't realize what kind of impact a dog could make on my life until I was in my late 30's. I credit that to my husband's dog Ruby. She converted me. To be clear, I am NOT a dog trainer or behaviorist. I'm a girl who adopted a stubborn, bratty, goofball dog without having any knowledge whatsoever on how to deal with her. Most dog people don't recommend that you start out like this. It wasn't planned that way, it just was. Ruby had been such an 'easy' girl that I was completely unprepared for what was to come. I wanted to share my experiences both good and bad with others who feel like they just want to curl up in the corner and cry because their dogs are making them crazy. Don't be mistaken though, she may be bratty, but she makes me laugh a lot and she has taught me even more about myself. She's definitely my 'meant to be' dog and through her I'll unlock the mysteries of the universe. OK, maybe not, but it's never dull.
