Introduction Lawton Hall is a composer, horn player, improviser, and sound artist. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he now lives near pine trees in Wisconsin where he studies at Lawrence University.

As a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic works, his primary teachers have been Asha Srinivasan, John Mayrose, Jennifer Fitzgerald, and Ben Johnston, with whom he has studied expanded just intonation. In the summer of 2009, Lawton lived in the Hudson River Valley and worked closely with Pauline Oliveros at the Deep Listening Institute, Ltd.

As a horn player, Lawton has explored the microtonal/just intonation potential of the instrument, as well as its use a sympathetic resonating chamber in electroacoustic settings.

His current projects involve feedback and reverberation as both acoustic and social phenomena.
