Introduction I long ago gave up the feminine inconveniences of gowns and stays, and adopted male attire when I began to travel the wide world in search of adventure and a name. But do not mistake me for a man because of my coat and breeches. I do not share that species' rude manner, beastly wit or excitable temper. Such has been my experience, but I will be delighted to meet any who can by gentle disposition and clever conversation disprove my hard opinion. The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page, writes St. Augustine. I travel with no fixed plans, not intent on arriving, in the company of others or solo, as the Italians say. You may find me in the piazzas of Rome, on a gondola in Venice, in a cathedral crypt in Rouen, near a fortress in Goa, at an anchorite's cave in Thibet, a mission in California, rampant upon the Great Wall in Kitai or idle at home in Bodega. Many women place their faith and trust in their inconstant husband; mine is the better invested in my sword. I am not Romantic. I am Baroque.
Interests Witty conversation, compelling stories, colorful personalities, memorable places.
