Introduction “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug.” ~ Mark Twain ~ I have never thought of myself as a writer; I don’t have the all-encompassing passion for writing that you hear writers speak of. What I do have is a love-hate relationship with writing. Good writing is hard work and when you combine that with how hard it can be to actually put words on paper, the compunction to write is often quelled. However, there are times that I cannot extinguish the fire that drives me to write and typically you will see the result of that here. If you consider the definition of writing to be ‘someone who puts words on paper,’ then I am a writer. So, my purpose in this blog is to provide a forum for me to write. I will not limit what I write about; it will be an outgrowth of my life. Yep, that about covers it. Thanks for dropping by, please feel free to become a follower and leave a comment so I'll know you were here!
Interests First and foremost I have an enduring interest in and love for my grandkids, Janzen, Kallista, Lennox, Essa and Kayo. I love paper crafts, reading, crocheting.
Favorite Movies I am not much for watching movies but I have seen a few. These are not in any particular order other than that I thought of them in this order.=) What's Up Doc?, That Thing You Do, White Christmas, Cutting Edge, Fiddler on the Roof, Mary Poppins, there are more but I don't need to bore you further.
Favorite Music I love all kind of music from worship to classical and jazz.
Favorite Books Definitely not in order of importance and I really have no idea how anyone could narrow their favorite books down to a list. But here goes: The Bible Not My Will Christy Anything James Herriot wrote, Gone With the Wind (and no, I did NOT like the "sequel" Scarlett written by Margaret Mitchell's family, don't even get me started), Mrs Piggle Wiggle series by Betty Macdonald who also wrote The Egg and I, I love Jan Karon's Mitford books. Her method of bringing her characters to life is amazing and I love her style of writing, Truthfully, I couldn't possibly begin to list all of my favorite books, I have a lifelong love of reading, and there are lots of books worthy of reading.
