Favorite Movies Crash, the Big Lebowski, The Karate Kid (I challenge you to not wish you had had a Mister Miyagi when you were what - 14?) Star Wars 1. Indiana Jones 1 (jeez they couldn't deliver with the 2s and 3s), A Heart in Winter (French), Tous Les Matins du Monde (ditto), Platoon, Apocalypse Now (wow!), Ran (Japanese King Lear) and so on
Favorite Music classical western, Hindustani Classical, Urdu Ghazals, Ghulam Ali in particular and Salamat Ali Khan and sons, Ravel, St Saens, Arvo Part, Bach solo cello suites, one particular damn Schubert Lieder with a rippling piano accompaniment, goes dah dah-de dah- dah dah de dah, the Schubert Quintet that has to be the most sublime thing ever written, Peter Sculthorpe's 'Maninyas', Phillip Glass, Marin Marais and the other viola da gamba pieces of Tobias Hume.
Favorite Books Mrs Dalloway, To The Lighthouse, Dombey&Son, Bleak House, The Boat, bloody Philadelphia which I loved/hated, Roget's Thesaurus, The God of Small Things, Midnight's Children, La Divina Commedia (in Italian), A.A. Milne.
