About me

Location Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Introduction Ph. D. in political science at the University of Alberta. My thesis "Immigrant agency in labour market integration in Canada and Sweden" studies how immigrant communities mobilize to address mutual needs and how governments respond to that. It argues that government support and funding to such groups will facilitate integration. Canada does provide some such support, Sweden provides very little, providing, I argue, a partial explantion for why labour market integration is slower in Sweden than Canada. Over the past several years, I have taught political science on the 100-400 level, including introductory courses in political science, Canadian and Comparative politics and public administration. I now live in Edmonton, Canada, but I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden.
Interests Bourdieu, ethnic relations, gamification, game-based learning, Hood, labour market integration, multiculturalism, public adminstration, teaching.
