The intention of the homily is to bring about conversion of the laity; to exhort them to proclaim Jesus Christ to the world. Think of the parish as the epicenter with the Eucharist and proclamation of the Gospel as the energy. The faithful, then, as shockwaves are employed to, "diffuse the fragrance of his knowledge everywhere.” 2 COR 2:14
