| Introduction | In November of 2007 we made a lifestyle change by moving to the country. Joe loved it from the beginning. I followed with reluctance, to put it politely. I did not share his vision for making this house, that was not my style at all, and 200+ acres our home at first. But Joe was right and we both love living out here at the end of the mile-long road that dead ends into our driveway. We love the seclusion. I admit, the blessings of country living outweigh the need for the perfect house, though we have updated with a couple of major remodeling projects. The place was set up for cattle farming and we had cows until 2014 when Joe decided to sell the cows after two back surgeries 6 weeks apart. We see all kinds of wildlife--most are welcome sights, some others like wild hogs and snakes, not so much! We have become a weekend destination for our kids and grandkids, so most Sundays find us with a full house. I decided to share some of our country pleasures through this blog. Hope you enjoy! Update: We sold our country place and moved closer to "town" in 2019 but I will always cherish the time we lived the country life. |
