About me

Location Marion Center, PA, United States
Introduction The 2018 Race season will mark the 52nd Anniversary of Marion Center Speedway. The 1/4 mile oval dirt track is located on the top of a hill, just off PA Route 119, 3 miles north of Marion Center PA. MCS has been owned and operated by the Potts family since it was built in the fall of 1965 by David and Marybelle Potts, with the first races in 1966. The core of the on-going operation today is still run by their two daughters (June and Janet) and son-in-law Rich Leydic. Friends, neighbors and even former race car drivers make up the rest of the staff that keeps the facility family oriented. MCS operates on a schedule of racing Saturday night from April through October. The gates & concession stands open 6 pm with racing starting at 7:30pm. One night's program consists of racing 5 divisions. One night a month, the intermission is devoted to Little Racers, when kids bring their bicycles & helmets down onto the race track to compete against others in their age group.
