About Me

I grew up in Denver when it was still a cow town. In 1967 the hippies came to town from California, and Denver began its transition to what it is today. When I was 10 years old my sister gave me a puppet stage and puppets. I wrote my first plays as puppet plays. My favorite role in a High School play was "Starbuck" in THE RAINMAKER When I was 23 I was invited to be in the fledgling theatre company, STEPPENWOLF IN CHICAGO. I chose to focus on writing and moved to Santa Fe NM when I was 24. My playwriting career was forestalled by the onset of the chronic illness which I still have. In 1993 I began the process of getting well, thanks to some new medications. and the progress has been better ever since. I give "wellness" a wide definition. IMHO, wellness is being all you can be despite any limitations from disability. If you're in Phoenix, AZ on August 1 or 2, 2008, I would like to invite you to see my new play THE ONSET PHENOMENON, which is a fictional story about my diagnosis.

What would you name your ballet inspired by the sight of children leaping through a garden sprinkler?

La Casa de Agua Fria (The House of Cold Water) It would have a Latin Beat
