| Introduction | I'm a nationally published journalist, artist, and freelance writer. My essay collection, WRITING HOME, focuses on the years I worked as a family newspaper columnist while raising a child. The book won four awards for creative non-fiction, including one from Writer's Digest. Formerly the editor of a national B&B travel magazine, I now specialize in house and garden topics. My essays and columns have appeared in dozens of national newspapers and magazines, including Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, Country Gardens, Reader's Digest, The Christian Science Monitor, Victoria, Writer's Digest, plus a wide variety of popular anthologies. My mixed media art has been exhibited in juried shows, and I've worked as a background extra in 18 different film and TV productions.
