About Me
A journalist and author based in Paris and Senior Fellow at the World Policy Institute, I enjoy making politicians nervous in countries around the world. I also enjoy the sultry ebb of reggae and kompa, many things about Rio de Janeiro, the bookstalls of Bombay and the lambi creole at Anba Tonel in Port-au-Prince. I try to educate myself by devouring books in as many languages as I can, and by reporting from the field in places where I may be of some use to the struggle of economically and socially disadvantaged people to lead more just and decent lives.
