Occupation Daoist medicine
Location NYC, NY, United States
Introduction I studied philosophy and literature at Stanford in the Humanities Honors program in the late '70s. I studied acting and directing at Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison in the early '80s, then moved to NYC where I was an actress and then an opera singer. I love science, music, art, and not just appreciating these things but DOING them! I love sports, especially those that take me out into beautiful mother nature, so hiking, skiing, sledding, canoeing, walking, you name it. As someone who identifies primarily with Daoist philosophy, I am all about living in harmony with nature. That means so many different things, all of them good. People with many jobs, like Clint Eastwood who writes, directs, acts, plays jazz and holds political office.
Interests opera, surfing, dancing, theater, literature, world music, sci fi, detective and spy novels, hiking, cooking & eating healthy delicious meals with friends, travelling, learning languages, Qi Gong, resting, sleeping
Favorite Movies The Mozart Brothers (Swedish), The Whale Rider (Australian), The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, The Earth, any movie with Peter Sellers.
Favorite Music Pretty much any good opera. Special favorites of operas I've been in? The Rape of Lucretia by Benjamin Britten and The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, a little of each: tragedy and comedy.
Favorite Books The Help is a recent favorite. All Shakespearean plays, truly.

You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?

Knee-high Frye boots.
