Introduction Ramin Ganeshram is a 17-year veteran journalist and professional chef trained at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. For eight years she was a contributor to the regional sections of the New York Times, garnering 6 SPJ awards for her work. Additionally, she was a food feature writer and columnist writing about the ethnic foods of the New York area for Newsday. Her column @table, forDragonfire, the ezine of Drexel University, was nominated for a Bert Greene award for Online Journalism in 2006. She is the author of Sweet Hands: Island Cooking From Trinidad & Tobago (Hippocrene Books 2006, 2nd Edition 2010) and the forthcoming Curry Chronicles, a young adult culinary novel (Scholastic Press 2011.) For two years, she served as Managing Editor of One Big Table, A portrait of America at table (Simon & Schuster 2010) by Molly O'Neill.
