Introduction | Pin It and Stitch was created in January 2012 by two sisters who love to sew, quilt and hunt for vintage treasures. We are obsessed with fabric, buttons, cotton and notions. Our intention is to share our passion for Fresh, Funky and Modern quilting and aim to provide everything you could possibly desire to complete your projects. Our Mum, as a child handmade her dolls clothes and once she was old enough to use a machine she made all her own clothes and her wedding dress. When we came along she made our clothes including leotards, ballet tutus and an array of our many random requests. Mum would spend hours teaching us both how to sew, passing on her knowledge. Our Aunty started sewing at the age of 14, her first job was in the rag trade making children’s clothes and samples for fashion designers. She also studied dressmaking and tailoring to enable her to teach others and introduced us to the world of quilting. Without their inspiration and patience we would never have inherited this love of fabric which has resulted in ‘Pin It and Stitch’ being created. We would like to say a huge thank you to our families, friends and everyone who has contributed towards making this happen. |
