Introduction There's really nothing special to share about me. I'm a simple man who leads a simple life, still in search of knowledge and the enlightenment it gives to my still-growing mind. And I do believe in magic, for it is out there, waiting to be discovered by those whose hearts and minds are open to the possibility, and whose eyes are willing to look past the obvious and seek the realm of the mystical.
Interests Books, music, and all things beautiful. And by the way, did I mention books and music?(", ) But in all seriousness: Books (any and all, for I have a love of the written word and the knowledge contained therein; I have a special love of good poetry); writing (attempting to create my own version of the great-American novel); doing puzzles, especially the New York Times Crossword, as well as the new Sodukus (and as a true challenge, I do 'em in ink!); music (anything, other than rap, from Linkin Park and Pink Floyd to Dvorak and Copland, as long as it communicates to my soul in the special language music speaks); playing the guitar; baseball; good food and wine; and intelligent conversation.
Favorite Movies To Kill a Mockingbird; Flags of Our Fathers; Letters From Iwo Jima; 61; Vanishing Point; Field of Dreams; Contact; When Harry Met Sally; Courage Under Fire; Sleepless In Seattle (Yepper, I'm a Meg Ryan fan...(", ). Truly, it's an endless list, but I love good drama with good plots, and historically accurate movies about real people and events.
Favorite Music Anything, other than Rap. But I have a special love of traditional Bluegrass, good symphonies, and especially that great American gift to the World of good ol' hard kicking rock.
Favorite Books Another endless list, but my all-time favorites are "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Steven King's uncut version of "The Stand", as well as his 7-volume "Dark Tower" series, which I feel is most likely his greatest opus, a mystical odyssey through space and time and imagination. And then, as for the dreamer and romantic that lurks in my soul, there is, and always will be, "The Bridges of Madison County".
