| Introduction | I'm a fulltime painter and, as of the first posting of this blog, work exclusively in oil. I also fully intend to continue to do so for at least the next 24 hours. But I'm not new to this - I've been painting since I was very young and badly-behaved and then, more and less intensely, for the last decade and a half. I finally decided about 4 years ago, after some of my favourite people took their last turn on the thrill-ride that is this world, that the realm of graphic design and branding was no real place for badly-behaving painters, and that my creative existence could be so much more consummately gruelling and self-explorative. I also realised that there was still so much to do - and no guaranteed time in which to do it. The work is executed using only the finest quality artist's colours, on grounds both flexible and rigid - with brushes, knives and appendages. I strive to keep it humane, honest and of myself. At its best, this blog is a regular visual record of that objective. |
