Introduction I guess you can pretty much figure me out from my interests from below: I am your run of the mill geek, nerd, and dork combined (plus, as if that wasn't bad enough - bi as well). Yep, that's right - pretty much a complete loser. I spend most of my time - when I am not working or in classes - either writing (fiction), reading/studying (non-fiction), or watching movies/UK TV. I love cloudy, rainy days... and I am almost completely nocturnal by nature. I can be found on AIM/AOL/Bebo, Blip, Blogger, Digg, Facebook, Flickr, FormSpring, Friendster, Geeks!, GoogleTalk & Profiles (as StevenXL3), Hulu, LastFM, LinkedIn, LiveJournal, MSN/Windows Messenger, MeetUp, MySpace, okCupid, Pandora, Twitter, Ustream, Vimeo, WordPress, YIM/Yahoo!, YouTube, and practically everywhere else as "Steven3x" or sometimes "Steven Lauren". Just Google it. ;-)
Interests I love movies, music, reading, writing (my dream career), technology, psychology, philosophy/mythology, and finance/investing. I am also a total geek that loves sci-fi/horror/fantasy/goth/superhero stuff - and YES I love D&D (all editions except the current 4th which isn't really D&D anyway). I am also a TOTAL Anglophile. As for travel - I have been to about half the States (including Alaska & Hawaii), Guam, and the Philippines. I dream of going to Scotland (well, the UK/Ireland in general), back to Japan for a proper visit, New Zealand, and Vienna the most. It's kind of sad really, but when I am not out with friends, and I'm at home alone, I love nothing more than to have a pint of ale or two with some fiery Indian curry while I write, read, listen to music, or watch movies/UK TV. I love going for long walks at night too (plus I am a TOTAL night-owl/nocturnal). I love the idea of exploring the local club scene with friends, but I'm just way too shy and boring - lol. (Apparently I am a classic "Virgo", if you believe in that sort of nonsense)
Favorite Movies the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Highlander (1 only), 2001: a Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, a Clockwork Orange, the Shining, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pink Floyd: the Wall, Stop Making Sense, True Stories, Akira, Star Wars (episodes IV, V, and III), the Wizard of Oz, Forbidden Planet, the James Bond series, Superman (1, 2, and Returns), Batman Begins/the Dark Knight, the X-Men series, Raising Arizona, Akira, Dead Poets Society, Donnie Darko, Alien, Jaws, Halloween, the Breakfast Club, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Gothic, Metropolis, Dark City. Plus, almost any film BY Stanley Kubrick or WITH Sir Ian McKellen, Harrison Ford, Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, Richard O'Brien, Alan Cumming, or Jodie Foster... and yeah I'm a film junkie.
Favorite Music GENRES: Classic Alternative (Art-Punk & New Wave), Celtic, Gothic/Renaissance/Baroque Classical, Ambient & Trance Electronica, Classic Rock (late 60's on...) and 80's "one hit wonders". ARTISTS: Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club, Clannad/Enya, Brian Eno, Simple Minds, the Ocean Blue, the Beatles/Wings, Pink Floyd, INXS, U2, David Bowie, Queen, Thomas Dolby, New Order, the Flaming Lips, Vampire Weekend, Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, the Cars, Roxy Music, the Sex Pistols, Wendy/Walter Carlos, Bach, Vivaldi, Verdi, Orff, Holst, Beethoven.
Favorite Books the HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy series and Douglas Adams, JRR Tolkien... but I mostly read NON-fiction (even though I write fiction): Joseph Campbell, Suze Orman, the "for Dummies" series, psychology, philosophy, mythology/religion, technology/internet, business/finance/investing, comics (yea, I'm a geek as well as a nerd), D&D/TSR/Wizards of the Coast, puzzles/crosswords...
