Introduction | I am a homeschool dad with a lot of time on my hands. I use much of this time reading outside my own specific Christian interests in hopes of becoming better acquainted with the broader Christian Tradition so as to gain a better appreciation for others not so much like myself. I hope to incorporate some of those things which I find to be edifying so as to further my journey through life. My greatest desire is to learn to walk more closely in God's divine presence so as to resemble in an increasing fasion the character of Jesus (I don't know of a better example of what God may actually be like). I consider it of the utmost importance to be journeying with others that I might experience goodness through them and hopefully afford them the same opportunity. |
Interests | Philosophy, Theology, Contemplative Spirituality, drag racing, playing guitar and singing |
Favorite Movies | The Matrix, The Rookie, Hoosiers, and the television series Friday Night Lights, Heroes, and Medium (it always keeps me wondering what might happen next, and I'm usually wrong when I think I've gotten it figured out). |
Favorite Music | Most any genre which communicates with some clarity concerns with what is ultimately real, and David Wilcox's Out of the Question, into the Mystery |
Favorite Books | Anything written by Paul Tillich, Huston Smith, Dallas Willard, George MacDonald, Leonard Sweet, and Evelyn Underhill. I also enjoy works written from any perspective that presents that which seems good and best. |
How is it that humans purport to know with certainty that which can only be attained through faith?
