| Introduction | I am the mother of 5 children, 4 of whom have special needs. Special needs is a broad term but in my case, it means my children require a lot of medication, therapy, and hard core interventions. Those young people exhaust me, frustrate me, and stretch me to the core daily. Everyday is a challenge but it is ALWAYS a blessing to be their mother. I have reliquished my role as a stay-at-home mom and recently traded it in for that of a working mom. That leads me to my school counseling career. I view my "day job" as another child at this point. I love it more than I ever thought I could, it challenges me, validates, and fills me with ambition to do more and keep trying. I love my students more than they will ever know. I want nothing more than to impact their lives in a positive way and to help them achieve their dreams. Finally, I am a lover of music, it feeds my soul and allows me to cope with everything else. This blog is an expression of the person I am; random, expressive, and passionate. |
