Introduction I love wild foods and wild medicine! It all started when I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1986. The desert looked so barren. How did people survive here before modern conveniences? Matthew 6:26 reminded me, "Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are?" Yes, but...where's the food??? I received the answer in 1990 when I met Linda Runyon. She foraged for food from the local plants, cacti, trees and even weeds! I've continued to discover the edible plants that grow all around us. I also started discovering the native medicinal plants through several local herbalists. I spent a lot of time learning from Michael Cottingham, through a 12-month online course and a 12-month herbal intensive where we hiked and learned the plants that grow in the desert and mountains of Arizona and New Mexico. Now is the time to discover the abundance that God has provided for us. Be sure to check the calendar for classes I have scheduled to teach around the valley.
