| Introduction | After spending my first career outside of Academia, I decided to return to the fold and find work as a professor. I was an adjunct for several years at a small university in the mid-Atlantic region making a full 20% of what I would be making if I had stayed with my old career. Now I'm finally in a TT slot making 1/2 what I made before, but I finally have the job I've wanted since I started grad school 30+ years ago. I love teaching, but will my dream job turn out to be as satisfying as I hoped? |
