| Introduction | I am a licensed clinical social worker. For 12 years I conducted a "class" for families members who are dealing with substance abuse and addiction within their families. The goal of the class was to inform but also to help family members to implement new healthy behaviors as they are willing and able to do so. My hope is that this blog will also meet those goals. I grew up in an alcoholic household and believe it is vitally important that people are able to learn to use a support system and reduce their level of isolation and fear as soon as possible for their own well being. |
