| Introduction | March 18, 2006 was the day that changed everything. We were going to see my Mom who is in a nursing home. We were meeting the family there to have a party. March 18th is my birthday. My husband Lane had made dinner reservations. We were going to one of the restaurants on our “must try list.” In the late afternoon I decided to go for a quick work out and Lane was going to take a short nap. He reminded me to take my cell phone in case I needed to call him. Then he said “I love you” and I said “I love you, too.” Those were our last words to each other. When I got home an hour later he was dead. In the past year I decided I needed to do something different. You know, explore new horizons. I have been trying to figure out what I am good at and what would be fun to do. Besides what I do for a living and being a step mother I came to the conclusion that my only expertise is being a widow. And that’s what I am going to blog about. My husband was a talented advertising copywriter and creative director so blogging would be much more up his alley than mine. But he is gone and that’s the point isn’t it? |
