| Introduction | Who am I? I am Barbara Russell, soapmaker extraordinaire, mother to 3 grown children, 5 grand-children, 1 cat, 1 dog and 1/2 dog. You will meet the 1/2 dog in this blog in the future. His name is T-Bone. We have great hope that he will grow into a whole dog some day. Back to the soapmaking. I have been making soap technically for about 47 years. Now realistically, I have been making soap for 9.5 years. I was taught by my grandmother many years ago. The biggest difference in the soap that we made then and the soap we make now is my soap is made from all vegetable butters and oils and it is superfatted for your skin. Also, she made 2 kinds of soap. Castille for the body and hair: lard for laundry. I make about 65 different kinds of soap containing about 25 different oils and butters. This is enough for now I will introduce to my soaps and products AND T-Bone shortly. Check out my shop on Etsy! http://bjrussell.etsy.com |
