About me

Location Lincoln, Nebraska, United States
Introduction Through the efforts of Lulu Runge, a math teacher at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and an alumna of the Theta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, a group of 12 women was installed as Rho Chapter on June 5, 1912. Alpha Xi Delta was the 11th Greek organization at UNL. The original Alpha Xi Delta house was located at 1527 M Street. After years of fundraising, with the enduring guidance from Ms. Runge, the chapter house moved to 1619 R Street and became Rho Chapter's new home. The new house opened in the fall of 1929, just before Rush Week. An addition to the house was completed in 1968. In 1997, the property was named as a National Landmark due to its architectural uniqueness. Over the last five years, many changes have taken place inside the house: - Ethernet Ports Added in Sleeping Rooms and Common Areas - Wireless Internet on First Floor and Basement - Air Conditioning - Renovation of the Basement and 1st Floor - Renovation of 2nd floor Bathrooms - New carpeting on 2nd and 3rd Floors - Sprinker system installed on all floors - Three new PC computers and one new Mac computer
