About Me

What I do
I've been with Ingenta (via CatchWord, which merged with Ingenta in 2001) for 6 years. My job involves product development (working out/speccing what cool new things we should add to the IngentaConnect service) and marketing (writing about afore-mentioned cool new things). It increasingly involves getting out and about to meet our many and varied customers, which I would like more if all industry events happened to be held in Oxford - it's always enjoyable to shoot the breeze with like-minded people, but I'm not the happiest of travellers (I get homesick!).
Why
I love working in electronic publishing because it's effectively a very young and therefore exciting industry which continues to evolve rapidly. And because I'm lucky enough to work in a fast-paced, market-leading, not-overly-hierarchical organisation.
Lame claim to fame
I have several claims to near-fame, my most cited of which is appearing on UK kids' TV show WAC-a-day when I was 8. And since you're bound to ask: no, I didn't get hit with Mallett's Mallet.
