About Me

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999 through Buffalo State College, where I majored in Philosophy. I also earned my Associate in Arts degree in 1996 through Niagara County Community College, graduating with Honors and High Distinction in the field of Human Services. I am a former substitute teacher, holding experience in urban, suburban, and private school settings. Most important, I have two sons, the younger of which has identified as Gay, and who is the very reason that I have given life to this blog after experiencing with him the harassment, intimidation, and bullying he endured in a school district lacking appropriate support and proper control procedures to prevent violence against children like Michael who have the courage to own their gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation at such an early age in order to live authentically.
