About me

Gender Male
Location London, United Kingdom
Introduction Richard and I have been together since October 1994 and still love each other into little meatballs. We both went to school in Stockport, but met in London through Doctor Who, years later. Big influence: I became a voracious reader as a boy in order to read Doctor Who books, and got involved in politics because Doctor Who gave me an instinct for freedom and a desire to change the world. We’re still excited about the continuing series, and our Isle of Dogs flat has thousands of books and DVDs (films spanning 90 years, The Avengers, Quatermass, I Claudius and many more). Plus a fluffy elephant.

I believe in freedom from poverty, ignorance and conformity, and am a thoroughly Liberal member of the Liberal Democrats. I was national Chair of the Lib Dem Youth and Students in 1994-5 (my 15 minutes of fame, attacks in the Daily Mail and all) and for most of the time from 1993 to 2007 was elected to the party’s Policy Committee (including four years as Vice-Chair), standing down since then as a result of ill health. I stood for Parliament in both 1997 and 2001. Other interests include slightly wussy naturism, and cooking; I doubtless eat too much, but enjoy it.
