| Introduction | I sat in our living room, rocking my baby to sleep. I was also waiting for my husband to end the phone call he was on. He put the phone on mute and asked me "are you sure you don't want to be part of my family's quilt block exchange?" He was on the phone with his sister, and as much as I wanted to be included, I just wasn't up for it. So it was a definite "I DO NOT want to be part of it." He nodded okay, got back on the phone and said, "She's in!" My jaw dropped & we had a heart-to-heart conversation after the phone call ended. With four kids, and my younger two being just 6 & 18 mo. old, I didn't know how I'd ever manage to make time for it. And on top of that, I had NEVER sewn. I was the girl taking wood shop for my elective in school. Well, my hubby got everything in order for me. He bought me all the things I needed to get started. He helped out with the kids so I had time to sew. And on Saturdays he would take me to local quilt shops to buy fabric. He was really sweet to me. Then one day I looked on the internet, and I saw that there was a wonderful world of quilting out there. I started planning quilts, and dreaming up color schemes. I was hooked. 7 yrs. later, here I am. |
