Introduction Greetings Readers! My name is Abigail, and I am a budding Catholic author blogging for the sake of practice. I write about a variety of things, ranging from media to religion, and love doing it! I hope you enjoy your visit, and please come back again! God bless!
Interests I love the ocean, living by the beach, and being in or on the water! When I'm not reading or writing, I also enjoy playing the violin, watching movies, spending time with my family, and rearranging my room!
Favorite Movies Ah, there are way too many, but here's a list of ten favorites: LOTR Extended Editions, Inception, Big Fish, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Father of the Bride (1991), The Sixth Sense, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Padre Pio: Miracle Man, The Avengers, and Finding Neverland.
Favorite Music Basically any kind of rock music, though I also listen to a wide variety of other genres- ranging from classical to pop. Switchfoot is my favorite band, though 80's rock music runs a close second. Bach's my favorite composer, as of right now, and I'm currently digging Irish Rock music, particularly the Waterboys (thanks Dad!) and Flogging Molly.
Favorite Books Anything by J.R.R. Tolkien is an immediate favorite! I just finished A Postcard from the Volcano, which was brilliant. C.S. Lewis, Chesterton, O. Henry, O'Brien, and Austen are always enjoyable. The best thriller I've ever read was Ted Dekker's Three, followed by his Blink of an Eye. Joseph Pearce is my favorite biographer (and the best Catholic biographer out there right now, by the way. His biography on Tolkien, entitled Tolkien: Man and Myth, is stupendous). And, of course, the best place to go for spiritual nourishment is always the Bible, RSV preferably, though the de Sales Introduction to the Devout Life, St. Therese's Story of a Soul, and St. John of the Cross's Dark Night of the Soul are also great choices, or Miles Connolly's Mr. Blue, for a fiction inspirational. Once again, there are way too many good books to choose from!
