About Me
I first started in journalism in 1976 and I have worked for many Chicago newspapers and regional magazines, mainly focused on politics. I covered Chicago's City Hall from 1976 through 1992, and wrote a great backgrounder piece on that experience for the Chicago Reader, which is archived on my web page (www.TheMediaOasis.com) under Journalism. I've won three SPJ Lisagor Awards and was named "Best Ethnic American Columnist" by the New America Media. I am also a successful stand-up comedian performing a very unique Palestinian-Arab-Jewish comedy act (www.IPComedyTour.com), and morning radio talk show host in Chicago on WJJG 1530 AM Radio Mon-Fri 8-9:30 am. The show is simulcast on the Internet at www.RadioChicagoland.com.
That can't really be a fish you're standing on, can it?
"I love America and the princples it claims but fails to achieve. I wish it to improve and change and seek that goal through my writings." -- Ray Hanania
