About me

Gender Male
Location Longmont, Colorado
Introduction Marcio Correa’s landscapes and street scenes reflect both his love of travel and a fascination with local Colorado scenery. “I am deeply interested in nature, but also in the man-made world and the intersection of both. I prefer to paint on location, immersed in my subject’s atmosphere and light.” He works in watercolor on paper and on alternative surfaces which can be framed without glass. Marcio is a signature member and Immediate Past President of the Colorado Watercolor Society, and signature member of the Red River Watercolor Society. His paintings are featured in local and national juried shows, and have won several awards. Coming from a background in languages and literature, and some experience in commercial art, Marcio learned to paint mostly on his own and through workshops with renowned artists Alvaro Castagnet, Mark Mehaffey, Mel Stabin, John Salminen, Ted Nuttall, Arne Westerman and Thomas Schaller. Marcio is Brazilian, but since 1996 has called Colorado home.
