| Introduction | UCF Health Informatics Candidate 2012 My name is Tara and I’m unabashedly enthusiastic about my career and my education. I manage and administer the IT needs of a clinical research team based in central Florida. I facilitate the acquisition and maintenance of software solutions. This summer we selected and are now implementing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for our biorepository. This spring I will be supporting the design and development of a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS). These two systems will ultimately be linked to a large scale data warehouse via a system wide EHR. I find technological solutions that meet the needs of scientist and clinicians. It is a dynamic regulatory atmosphere wrought with, technological developments, scientific advancements, and clinical improvements. I function as moderator and a mediator between disparate groups, i.e., IT geeks, physicians, administrators, even compliance officers. I’m a central Florida native. I grew up in the boon-docks and to this day love getting outside. When I’m not at work or studying for this class I’m generally found rowing, running, or riding. |
