About me

Gender Female
Introduction My name is Alyssa Mroz and I am currently a senior studying Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Something this university has afforded me is the opportunity to work with diverse groups of students who are passionate about what they study. These interactions led me to become President of a group called We’re Offering Women Widsom (WOWW) and a Peer Advocate through URI’s Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services (VPAS).Through my work with VPAS, I developed a passion for speaking candidly with students on issues of violence. We all have people in our lives we love, and one of my major goals during my college career became speaking to students on how to help out friends and loves ones who may be going through one of the hardest times of their lives. I am excited to use this blog as a new way to reach out and hopefully interact with readers regarding issues such as stalking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and drug facilitated sexual assault. This blog will help you read into issues that are very real, but no one wants to talk about. I want this to be a place to create discussion and share ideas. Welcome!
