| Introduction | My life's passion is reading and I am many things but prefer not to talk @ myself. Our lives are filled with learning and discovery, I'm an eclectic homeschooler with fondness for the Well Trained Mind/Classical Method. This last year, our lifestyle and learning is closer to unschooling. Few know the Classical method was not only from Greek origins but the Arab/Muslims dedicated themselves to scholarship through scientific advancement, translating and recording many works of every civilization and thorough, exhaustive study and development on every subject known to man. There was cooperation and tolerance for they did this alongside Christian and Jewish scholars in Persia and Spain. The Arabs established the ancient Baytul Hikmah (House of Wisdom)in Bahgdad around 760 which was unrivaled for learning in it's time till 1258 when destroyed by the Mongols. We use the k12 online curriculum with Georgia Cyber Academy but do alot on our own as well. Our way is Islam and we are Muslims who submit to our Lord. i adore nature and animals, as do my kids! We worship the Creator and are inspired by his signs as described in the Quran. |
