| Introduction | Kenneth Kolson moved from Ohio to Washington, D.C., in 1985. While he has found many opportunities for personal and professional growth in our nation's capital, transplantation is never easy, even when the spirit is willing and the soil is rich. He worked for the federal government for over 22 years. At various times, he also taught in the honors program at the University of Maryland, participated in the fellowship program of the Council for Excellence in Government, undertook a program of research as a John Adams Scholar at the University of London, and spent a semester in Finland as a Fulbright Lecturer at the University of Oulu. Dr. Kolson is the author of Big Plans: The Allure and Folly of Urban Design (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2001). Currently, he is director of the Washington office of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs, The Ohio State University. The views expressed by "Washington Buckeye" are his alone. |
