| Introduction | Marco received a college degree from the School of Foreign Service of Georgetown U. in 1981 and a Ph.D. in strategic studies from M.I.T. in 1989. That momentous year, as the fall of the Wall made his studies totally obsolete, he returned to Italy to fly gliders and work as a senior fellow at the Istituto Affari Internazionali in Rome. In 1994 he moved to Brussels and until 2001 he was an international civil servant at NATO Headquarters. Before this blog, he published numerous books and articles on his travels and on international politics and military strategy. He contributed extensively to the Italian Encyclopaedia G. Treccani. He now is busy travelling, diving, taking pictures (usually all three at the same time) and running Pagine del Mondo, a non profit travelers' association in Brussels. |
