About me

Introduction Born and raised in Chicago, I began my career teaching English at Carl Schurz High school in Chicago. After getting married, I moved to Philadelphia, continuing my career teaching English in an affluent suburb of Philly, Cheltenham Township Senior High School. After my first child was born, I moved back home, to Chicago, and transitioned into Nursery School work for a number of years, but I moved (again!) to Tampa, Florida, where I resumed my career as an English teacher at the Ybor City campus of Hillsborough Community College. Life in Florida didn't agree with my family, however. We didn't like the heat, citrus rats, snakes, crocodiles, and bat sized flying cock roaches. We moved to Milwaukee because it was as close to our home (Chicago) as we could get. Since living here I've taught at Grandview High School, an alternative MPS school, for several years, but mostly I've been teaching and doing administrative work at UWM.
