| Introduction | Deng Akech Deng is South Sudanese currently living and studying in Canada.I am from Gogrial West County,Warrap State. I left South Sudan in 2001 for Ethiopia, and left Ethiopia in 2002 for Canada.I am studying political science at the University of Regina, Regina Saskatchewan Canada.That's abit of myself and I will now turn to what I will be doing on this blog.I will be posting articles on events,news and developments happening in Sudan,particularly in the Southern Sudan.I will also be writing and posting school related materials and anything that might be of interest to me and my readers.I would appreciate comments on my articles from my readers.Comments on my opinions as well as my work, quality of my writing that is aimed at improving it,is more than welcome. |
| Interests | It sometimes happens that the opinion one is expressing maybe great but, if how that opinion is expressed is inappropriate, it would not be as strong as it would have been if expressed correctly. Moreover, some people are sometimes blinded by personal beliefs and wishful thinking that they can’t see beyond their personal beliefs.I exactly understand how this kind of writing fails to achieve its objectives of convincing and making readers or audience believe but instead, attracts unbelief and negative reactions.In an attempt to keep my self out of this perimeter, I always step back from my opinions and Ideas and look at them from a distance and different angle.Looking at my opinions from a distance and two different perspectives, original opinion, or belief and an alternative allows me to see through the eyes of my audience, be perspective inclusive, be factual and intellectually honest, but nonetheless, there are occasions where my eyes might skip a viewpoint.In this regards, I urge my readers to provide a third viewpoint. School is over for now.It is summer and I am not taking summer classes.While enjoying summer holiday, I hope to have time to write and comment on articles, events, political developments and so on in the Sudan.I visit Gurtong and Sudan tribune websites very often.This time hopefully with availability of time, I will be posting my articles and commenting on others’ and I wish others to join me in constructively criticising and improving my work.I am inspired by 1700 French philosopher Voltaire’s statement.He used to say that, “I do not agree with a word you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it” whenever he disagreed with other’s opinions.Having been inspired by this ideology and philosophy, I have a heart to take, accept and accommodate criticism. Therefore, I finally urge my readers to question my opinions, analysis and etc and provide their views on the thing in questions. I would like to thanks whoever visits this blog for their time. |
| Favorite Movies | I am not much into movies. I rarely and randomly watch movies, but I don't have a favourite movie. I like comedy. When I watch TV, it is mostly news, music videos or comedy. I like to watch BET. It is good for both music and comedy. |
| Favorite Music | South Sudanese music, Kwaito, Soweto, African music (mostly Congolese music), reggae, Hip-pop, Rap, Pop, Techno and so on. I would say I love all kind of music. |
